Earth Day in Mammoth.
Celebrated by more than 191 countries each year, Earth Day is acknowledge on April 22nd worldwide to show and support environmental protection. This started in 1969 with a conference in San Francisco when peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honor our Earth with the concept of peace, first time celebrated in 1970. April 22 Earth Day is focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations, and now numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. Our planet is at a turning point. The massive global migration underway now from countryside to cities will demand huge investments in energy, water, materials, waste, food distribution, and transportation over the next 25 years. If the right investments are made now, this unique opportunity will be the catalyst for dramatic changes in the built environment and the fight against carbon emissions and climate change.

"420"
What is “420” and how did it come about?

Apparently the term 420 came about when a group of teenagers in San Rafael, Ca had a regular meeting and hang out spot outside the High school, they were a group that called themselves “The Waldos”. The teens increasingly used the code word 420 when to refer to their pot smoking in general. When they were interviewed by Steven Hager editor of High Times, he brought the group to a national audience. Soon enough this attributed to the followers that today use the term “420”.

April 20th has become a counterculture holiday in North America, where people gather and celebrate consuming cannabis. A lot of times these celebrations also have a political nature to them and advocate for the legalization of cannabis. Many major cities today throughout North America hold observances in acknowledgment of cannabis. Today cannabis is a code-term that refers to the consumption of cannabis and by extension, as a way to identify oneself with cannabis culture or simply cannabis itself. In Colorado, the Colorado Department of Transportation replaced the frequently stolen Mile Marker 420 sign on I-70 east of Denver with one reading 419.99 in an attempt to stop the thievery.

Myth: There are approximately 420 active chemicals in marijuana.

Fact: There are approximately 315 active chemicals in marijuana. This number goes up and down depending on which plant is used.

Truth or BS: Full Refund Cancellation
Truth or BS: Full refund Cancellation.

New series called "Truth or BS" send your votes in and at the end of the week we will share how you voted and reveal the actual answer on the Blog. Be prepared to LOL and be amazed!!!

Employee: "Thank you for calling Mammoth Rental By Owner. This is Jamie, how can I help you?"

Guest: "Yes, I need to cancel my reservation."

Employee: “You can definitely cancel your reservation. Can I get your information so I can look up your reservation, please? ”Customer gave me their information and where they were staying.

Employee: "It looks like you are within the 14 day period, so we are going to have to charge you a 25% cancellation fee."

Guest: “But I am telling you verbally to cancel the reservation. So you can’t charge me a fee.”

Employee: “Ma’am, you agreed to the rental contract. It is binding. Do you recall checking boxes to agree to the rental terms when you booked your reservation?”

Guest: “Yes, I agreed to the terms of the rental contract. But it’s void because I’m telling you verbally to cancel it.”

Employee: “Telling us to cancel the contract does not void it. That’s like calling my cable company and saying my contract is invalid and I don’t owe any more payments because I am telling them verbally it’s cancelled.”

Guest: “But I am saying it. Verbally. So now I should not be charged a fee for cancelling.”

Employee: Unfortunately, this is the owners’ contract and it is binding and you agreed. The charges are what they are. I can see if the owner wants to consider other terms but I can not confirm that till I speak with the owner.

Guest: Yes, yes call the owner and see what you can do.
After about 15 minutes and speaking with the owner employee call the guest back.

Employee: Hello Mrs M*******, this is Jamie with Mammoth Rental By Owner. I spoke with the Owner of the property and they owner does not want to negotiate the contract. The Owner stated that you saw and agreed to the contract prior to booking your reservation and that the terms and conditions are binding.

Guest: OK then, I guess it just sucks that I can’t cancel my reservation and get a full refund just because its 1 day before we are scheduled to come.

Employee: Ma’ma, is there any thing else I can help you with?
(I sent her a copy of her rental contract. Hopefully someone helped her to understand what a contract was.)
