Congrats to all six Mammoth Olympians representing the U.S. in Sochi! Kelly Clark who took home the Bronze in Women’s Snowboarding Halfpipe. Kaya Turski who dislocated her shoulder on her first slopeside run, popped it back in and took another run. Stacey Cook who struggled through crashes and heartbreak to come out the other side with a much deeper meaning of what the Olympics are all about. Greg Bretz who battled hard with the rest of the U.S. Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe team in rough pipe conditions. And Trevor Jacob who competed with a broken ankle. Mammoth athletes are hardy, for sure! We are so proud of them all.

We share these stories around the office and with friends (no we don't disclose names) and have been told numerous times that our blog followers want to hear some of these amusing events. So we have decided to begin a series called "Truth or BS" send your votes in and at the end of the week we will share how you voted and reveal the actual answer on the Blog. Some weeks the stories are more plentiful then others. Be prepared to LOL!!! They get pretty crazy so we will start of with some mild ones first to acclimate you to our altitude.

Today's story line: "Where am I going"
Guest: "Hi, we are 4 hrs from Mammoth where do I pick up the keys?"
Employee: "can you please let me know what unit you are staying in?"
Guest: "the one that sleeps 4"
Employee: "sir, we have multiple properties that sleep 4. Can you give
me the name of the complex?"
Guest: "it is in Mammoth Lakes"
Employee: "okay, we have many properties in Mammoth Lakes. Can I get a
name on the reservation?"
Guest: "I don't know what name it is under but I do have a reservation
receipt"
Employee: "great, can I have that number please?"
Guest: "it's in the trunk."
Employee: "pause (not sure how to answer). I am going to need that
number to locate your reservation"
Guest: "Okay, I will have to call you back"
Employee: "terrific, I will wait for your call"
have not heard from guest yet...
Did this guest really leave on vacation at 8 pm not knowing where they were going, not knowing the name on the reservation, not having looked at their check-in instructions? Was this phone conversation a "Truth or BS?"
