The first day of spring is this Friday March 20th. Start the season off up in Mammoth with amazing weather, wonderful winter/spring activities and great discounts on lodging. * Did you know that some of the best streams and rivers are open to year-round fishing in the Eastern Sierra. Pack up your fishing gear and go winter fishing. Mammoth has some great Trout Fishing resources and shops, and be sure to check the California Department of Fish and Game for winter maps and regulations.

* Go back country skiing and snowboarding. Head up high and ski from the summit, or take a tour with the Sierra Mountain Guides and the Mountain Center. Whether you are looking to spend a day in the solitude of the mountains or spend the night, there is a wide range of guided trips to excite any and all.

* Looking for something a little more adventurous? There are a number of spots within an hour’s drive of Mammoth Lakes that are fantastic for bouldering and sport climbing during the winter.
