Don't Move A Mussel!
ATTACK OF THE MUSSELS!

Important information for all boaters this summer!

If you are planning on taking your boat to Crowley Lake this summer be prepared to have your boat inspected for invasive mussels before you can launch your boat into the water. Invasive mussels have the ability to negatively affect the fishery and water systems as well as damage boats. Therefore, all boats entering the Lake will be thoroughly examined. If any boats are found showing signs of contamination with mussels or contain any water or debris that could potentially harbor mussels, will not be allowed into Crowley Lake. All inspections will be performed at Crowley Lake South Landing and in Bishop for the fishing season.

Ways you can help prevent the invasion:
* Inspect boats and trailers thoroughly, remove any trash, mussels or weeds before leave the water.
* Any mussels and other items should be disposed of in a trash container
* Drain water from the motor, live-well, bilge and any other water from boat/equipment before leaving the water
* Wash boats and trailers with a pressurized power sprayer and hot water
* Dry boats, motors, trailers and equipment in the hot sun for at least two weeks before using them again.
