More than one way to get to Mammoth
The old standard was drive and drive and drive and several hours later, barring you didn't get a speeding ticket you arrived in Mammoth. Granted, the drive is an easy highway drive with great scenery, one of a kind diners and other funky places to stop grab a bite, stretch your legs and then get back on the road. For those of us who have done this for years this is part of the price for admission to get to Mammoth. Well, now the price for admission had just gotten easier.

The past few years Horizon Air has been flying into the Mammoth Yosemite Airport and this year they have expanded their service to year round with flights to Mammoth from LAX once a day, April through September. As for the Winter schedule flight will depart daily with non stop service from LAX to Mammoth and also daily nonstop service from San Jose and direct service from Portland.

In addition to Horizon Air, United Airlines will be offering service to Mammoth Lakes with daily flights from San Francisco (SFO)staring December 16, 2010. United has one daily nonstop flight from San Francisco to Mammoth Lakes this winter and spring.

The best part is that the flights are scheduled to take between 50-70minutes from LAX to Mammoth Lakes and only 60-70minutes from San Francisco to Mammoth. A far cry from the several hours on the road. Imagine, you could be skiing or boarding by noon.

In addition to convenient flights you will also be able to earn miles when you fly. Check with Horizon (800)547-9308 and United (800) 864-8331 for requirements and rewards.

Give MammothRentalByOwner a call or email us prior to your arrival to arrange for taxi service from the airport directly to your rental.
