Save the Date! June 19, 2016 is the annual Mammoth Half Marathon & 5k! What’s a better way of getting active, you say? Getting active on the beautifully scenic Mammoth Mountain of course! There is still time to register, but you’ve got to do it quick! Only 1,500 entrants are allowed in this race. April 3rd through May 1st the cost of the Half Marathon is only $99.00 per participant. There are a few options that might fit you, or your team’s needs!
All proceeds from this race go towards enriching Mammoth’s community service projects and local charitable causes. “We hope to catalyze volunteerism as a way to help communities throughout Mammoth Lakes.”
There are a few perks included in your registration package: Finisher’s Medal, Personalized Bib, Long Sleeve Technical shirt, Gear bag, and the Beautiful Mountain Scenery! There is also a 5K for those of us wanting have fun and run for a good cause.

Memorial Day weekend is coming up! ‘Mule Days’ is a local event in put on in Bishop, CA May 24th through May 29th. This event is about a 40 minute drive outside of Mammoth, so you and the family and can go and spend some time at this five day event. Mule Shows, The World Renowned Packers’ Scramble, Opening Night Supper, and much more for the kids to get a kick out of! On May 28th, at 10 AM watch the longest running non-motorized parade!

The Annual Pond Skim is coming up in just a couple of weeks! Come watch some crazy skiers and snowboarders stream straight across an icy pond! There will be TWO ponds this year to skim over and those willing to take the leap can fly from Pond #1 to Pond #2 with newly installed jump feature.
The first 50 competitors to sign up at 11 AM at Canyon lodge on April 17, 2016, dressed in the ever appropriate costumes, Superhero garb, will get a spot in the 2016 skim. Costumes are a must at registration to secure your spot. Pond skim open to ages 18+ only.

The Mono County fishing opener is just around the corner on April 30. With the lakes thawing and water levels at a higher than usual level, the catch is expected to be ideal.
