Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls:

Planning a trip to hike Devils Postpile? If you are then you have got to visit the beautiful Rainbow Falls.

Two miles downstream from Devils postpile, the San Joaquin River plunges 101 Ft. off a sheer cliff into an amazing horseshoe amphitheater. This staggering spectacle causes the colors of the rainbow to appear into the mists (hence the name). You can even walk along the rocks at the bottom near enough to actually feel the mist of the falls.
After an easy 1.5 mile hike, the beauty and the roar of the falls invite you to take a picnic and enjoy the sights. The best time to capture the colors of the rainbow is mid-day. During this time the sun is at its highest and so gives you the best opportunity for pictures.

Take this same trail to the Red Meadow Resort where a cool drink and the shuttle bus await. This site is truly one that you will not want to miss! Bring the family and enjoy a spectacular day at the Falls!
