Enjoying the sunrise from Mt. Whitney

There are few things in life more rewarding than to immerse yourself in nature and realize just how small you are compared to your surroundings.
Each moment in our lives must be appreciated fully-- from daybreak to day's end! So, with that, we leave you with this beautiful picture of the sunrise from the trail to the top of Mt. Whitney, overlooking the eastern Sierra and Owen's Valley.
At 14,505 feet, Mt. Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States- and it's located just 100 miles from Mammoth!
The 22-mile hike can take anywhere from 12-16 hours and guides you along the untouched beauty of Lone Pine Creek and Inyo National Forest. Permits are required to make the climb, but boy is it a climb to make!
Not everyone can make the trek, but it sure seems the views are worth it. Have a great weekend, mountain lovers!

Summer starts early in Mammoth!

Aside from the smell of freshly cut grass and the feeling of the sun on our faces, our favorite thing about summer is Opening Day for the Mammoth Bike Park and Adventure Center.
Both of these thrilling experiences kick off tomorrow at around 9 a.m. Gondolas and shuttles will be available at the Bike Park to take riders up to some of the more challenging trails. Spanning over 3,500 acres and offering terrain for every experience level, the Bike Park is a great outing for the adrenaline-seeking family.
And that’s not all there is to offer for the family this summer. The kid-friendly Adventure Center, which is equipped with a rock-climbing wall, zip lines, and a bungee trampoline, is open until 5 p.m. and all-day passes are available for kids for just $40.
If you’re in Mammoth this weekend and you’re looking for a more mellow experience, the Eleven53 Interpretive Center opens tomorrow also, offering free admission with the purchase of a scenic gondola ride to the center.
Personal vehicle access roads to Red’s Meadow and Devil’s Postpile also open tomorrow. So, mark up your calendar for the next few days, it’s gonna be a busy weekend! Click here to learn more about these events.

'Wine' down this June!

It’s hard not to want to shake, shimmy, and chardonnay your way down to Mammoth this month. Delectable wine options are in town. Whether you’re going to gaze at your lover’s eyes over a glass or toast to a good cause, the memories (like the wine) will be timeless.
You can begin your stay by celebrating the summer love among us all. Every Thursday night at Campo Mammoth, a rustic Italian eatery right in the heart of the Village, is Date Night. From 7pm to 10pm, you can cuddle up with your favorite guy or gal by a fire pit on the elegant patio area and enjoy half price wine when you purchase the Date Night menu. The menu includes a two-course for two for only $30 a couple and is graced with beautifully handcrafted Italian cuisine, from handmade pastas to locally farmed fresh vegetable concoctions.
An extensive wine list also adorns this restaurant’s aura de l’amour, offering options from domestic Napa Valley blends to breathtaking imports.
After a Date Night full of pampering and relaxation, grab your favorite person and head down to the Gimme Shelter Wine Walk on Friday, June 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Meetup is in the Village and proceeds go to Wild Iris, a transitional housing program. Walk, rock, and sip wine at this event while listening to live music from Rolling Stones tribute band, McAdams and the Stones. Tickets are $40 presale and $45 at the door. Click here for more info.
