National Trails Day: Join MLTPA on June 4 to celebrate National Trails Day with an “Introducing the Town Loop!” bike ride! We’ll host one ride in the morning and one in the afternoon; total distance is approximately seven miles. Record Snowpack Hike-a-Bike included at no charge! Send an email to info@mltpa.org for details.
RecStrats: The final two RecStrats public workshops, "High-Altitude Training and Trails” and “Linkages & Priorities,” are set for June 8 and June 23, respectively, from 4–7 p.m. at the Community Center. Follow all of the action at www.recstrats.com.
Summer of Stewardship MLTS Trail Days: MLTPA and Friends of the Inyo are bringing you a third season of this popular trail-stewardship series, kicking off six Trail Day events at 8:30 a.m. on July 2 at the Sherwin Lakes Trailhead/Mammoth Rock Trail. Bring a friend, get dirty, and be rewarded with lunch and free prizes for your hard work! Email info@mltpa.org for the complete schedule and details.
Sherwins Area Recreation Plan (SHARP): Two very exciting things are in the works! First, we’re reconvening the SHARP Trails Technical Committee for season #2. Help us refine the original SHARP alignments for a group of trails in the Mill City Area using inclinometers, flagging, and lots of tromping around in the sagebrush. Second, we’re gearing up to build our first section of trail in the fall, a link between the Lakes Basin Path and the Panorama Dome Trailhead. Get your name on the list for either or both committees by sending an email to info@mltpa.org.
MLTPA Photo Library: Going for a hike or a ride? Putting together a recreation event in Mammoth Lakes and need it photographed? MLTPA and Mammoth Lakes Tourism are working together to establish a photo library of all that goes on here in Mammoth Lakes, and all we need are things to shoot! Send us an email at info@mltpa.org to let us know where and when to show up!
