Tioga Pass
Memorial Day is May 27.
Right now in the Sierra, the weather is warming up, lakes are sparkling, most campgrounds are open, and spring is quickly becoming summer! Monitor Pass (SR 89) and Sonora Pass (SR 108) have both been open for a few weeks and Tioga Pass to Yosemite's east entrance is slated to open tomorrow, Sat. May 11 at noon!

And while the golf courses in Mammoth Lakes are gearing up to welcome golfers as soon as May 17 for Sierra Star and May 24 for Snowcreek, the slopes are offering great skiing on Mammoth Mountain through May 27!

If you've seen Tom Cruise's new movie, Oblivion, you've seen the actor's character, Jack Harper, look across the setting of June Lake and say: "I wanted to spend the rest of my life here." Our thoughts exactly, Jack!

It's ALMOST HERE!
Each year, Memorial Day Weekend plays host to Bishop's largest and most famous event. More than 30,000 visitors take part in the annual Mule Days festivities, including the longest running non-motorized parade in the country.
There is no way to actually describe Mule Days. It is part mule show, part test of skills, and part Wild West show. Situated on the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, California, Mule Days has become an international world class event.
There are also barbecues, country dances and an arts & crafts show. All of these events take place at the foot of the beautiful Eastern Sierra. What an exciting way to spend the holiday weekend!
