For bait fishing in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, try using inflated crawlers, power eggs or gulp bait. For lures, thomas cyclones, bouyants, trout teasers or zip rippers. If you're trolling then leadcore, ford fenders and dicknites are good choices.
Yesterday (5/4), Tioga Pass (SR 120) opened its gate to Yosemite National Park for the summer and we have a projected opening date of May 16th for the Reds Meadow and Devils Postpile area.

( 3 / 6996 )Offshore 'blob' to possibly account for soaking rains to Southern California this Winter. This phenomenon is drawing intense scrutiny from climate scientists and oceanographers.
Scientists believe that in the 1990s the Pacific Ocean began a cold phase which resulted in a slowdown in global temperatures. The increase in global average temperature is ushering in a period of wetter weather for Southern California.
William Patzert a climatologist for Nasa's Jet Propulsion Lab believes that " I think we may be shifting from a cool, dry phase to a warm, wet phase, which is usually a drought-buster."
