Today's story line: "8 of us in a 1 bedroom?"
Employee: " Good Afternoon this is Lexi at Mammoth Rental By Owner how can I help you"
Guest: "Hi we are here at the condo and we have a problem. There are 8 of us and it is only a 1 bedroom with a bed and a pull out couch. There is not enough room for all of us.”
Employee: "Let me verify your reservation"
Guest: "This looks just like the one I booked on the website.”
Employee: “Can I have your Reservation ID #?”
Guest: "Just a sec………… it is number *****”
Employee: "Please confirm your name and address. “
Guest: “ My name is ************ and the address is ************”
Employee: The information is all correct. You booked a 1 bedroom that sleep 4 at Big Wood number ***”
Guest: " I did see that it said sleep 4 but I figured it could sleep a little more, like 8 of us”
Employee: (trying to figure out what to say to the renters statement)……. the listing on the website is correct, it is a 1 bedroom and only sleep a maximum of 4. You would need a unit that would sleep 8. I can locate another unit for you that sleeps 8 if you can just wait a minute.
Guest: “Sure that would be great”
Employee: “OK I have located a property that is a 3 bedroom that sleeps up to 10 and the additional cost for the larger unit is $****”
Guest : “I can’t get the bigger unit for the same price?”
Employee:(really?)” Unfortunately, there is an additional cost and it is $***”
Guest: “OK I’ll take it”
Employee: “I’ll email you the new check-in instructions and you can head on over there now. Have a wonderful stay”
Guest: "Thanks."
Did this guest really think they could sleep 8 people in a 1 bedroom and then be upgraded to a larger unit at no additional cost? Was this phone conversation a "Truth or BS?"

As a vacation rental management company we hear and see lots of crazy and funny things. We share these stories around the office and with friends (no we don't disclose names) and have been told numerous times that our blog followers want to hear some of these amusing events. So we have decided to begin a series called "Truth or BS" send your votes in and at the end of the week we will share how you voted and reveal the actual answer on the Blog. Some weeks the stories are more plentiful then others. Be prepared to LOL!!! They get pretty crazy so we will start of with some mild ones first to acclimate you to our reservation altitude.

State the story line: Why is it so cold?
State you opinion: Truth or BS
Today's story line: "Why is it so cold?"
Employee: "Mammoth Rental By Owner this is Millie?"
Guest: "We are here in Mammoth and just got to the townhouse. Its so beautiful and spacious and really nice and warm. We are from ***** and this is our first trip to the snow .I had no idea it would be so cold. When we stepped out of the plane this cold blast of air hit me, I thought I was going to freeze on the steps. Is it unusually cold or is it like this always”?
Employee: "The temperature currently is 34 degrees which is typical for Mammoth this time of year"
Guest: "I had no idea it would be so cold outside! I’ve watched movies and it never looked cold on TV. People would have shirts and short selves on and having a fun time playing in the snow. I had no idea
I needed to bring warm clothes, like jackets, and gloves and hats.”
Employee: (not sure what to say at this point). We have some wonderful stores in town that can help get you better prepared for the cold weather. Would you like me to have someone assist you in Town or I can give you some suggestions which stores can help you the best?”
Guest: "Can you have someone help us as we have three small children and we want to get everyone warm as soon as possible before we go out in the snow again.”
Employee: "Okay, I’ll have someone meet you at the Townhouse in 15 minutes who can help?"
Guest: "Thank you so very much for your help." (in the back ground….mommy can we go outside and play)?
Did this guest really think the snow was not going to be cold? Was this phone conversation a "Truth or BS?"
