I was in Mammoth this summer from July 14 to August 9. I live in Enola, PA and have been to Mammoth 4 times in the last 2 years. My son, Curtis, worked on the mountain for 2 winters and was planning to move there. Sadly, that day did not come. He took his life on July 16, 2008 and his ashes are scattered on the mountain by Rodgers Ridge below Mccoy Station. I have wondered many times while I am almost 3000 miles away if anyone stops to pay their respects at this final resting spot. There is an awesome view from there. I was up there on a Sunday morning and 26 people stopped by. His friends put up a memorial there and it was very rewarding to know that they stop by. Mammoth will always hold a special place in my heart. Thanks, Betty

If you are into Halloween, Mammoth is the place to be.The mountain creates the ambiance for a spooky Halloween. The Eastern Sierras begin their transformation in readiness for the winter by displaying colors of red, yellow and orange with shades and hues that can only be credited to Mother Nature her self. The temperatures begin to drop, the breezes become stronger and the stage is set for Halloween. Bring your costumes and Mammoth will provide the back drop for a fun and spooky Halloween.

Old or young or in between the fall colors of the Eastern Sierra's is a breath taking sight. You will not be disappointed with the show that the Aspen tress put on. They shimmer and dance in the wind and parade their golden hues of yellow, red and orange till finally the curtain of snow comes down and the show is over till next fall. Winter brings it's own beauty that has two faces one that is motionless & quiet the other destructive and savage. Fall is a very special time in Mammoth come and see what nature is upto before winter arrives.
